Introduction

The Rotary Club of Mahabouddha, named after the iconic cultural heritage site in Lalitpur, Nepal, was established on February 12, 2003, and officially chartered on June 25, 2003. Under the leadership of late Charter President Kedar Bahadur Amatya, along with 24 founding members, the club quickly became an active participant in Rotary’s mission of service and fellowship. Rotarian Gyanu Raja Shakya was appointed as the Governor's Special Representative (GSR) by District Governor Amitabh Mookerjee of District 3290 to guide the formation of the club. The establishment process was further supported by Past District Governors late Tirtha Man Shakya, Dilendra Raj Shrestha, and Rotarians Siba Bhakta Rajbhandary and Yagya Bahadur Shrestha from the sponsoring Rotary Club of Patan.
